The short version
The numbers you type into a calculator stay in your browser. They are not sent to KnownSum, stored or shared. The site does use Google Analytics to count visits and shows advertising from Adsterra; those services collect standard browser information, as described below.
What you type into a calculator
Every calculation runs on your own device. Your income, hours, prices and other inputs are never uploaded to KnownSum and are not passed to the analytics or advertising services.
Analytics
KnownSum uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they use and how they found the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your device and browser, and the site that referred you. KnownSum sees this only as totals and trends. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
Calculator pages show one advertisement from Adsterra, a third-party ad network. Adsterra and its advertisers may use cookies and similar technologies, and may collect information such as your IP address, device, browser and the page you are on, to show and measure ads. KnownSum does not control the information they collect. See Adsterra's privacy policy for details and your choices. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Hosting and security
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Settings stored on your device
If you switch between light and dark mode, the site remembers your choice in your browser's local storage. It is not sent anywhere.
If you email us at hello@knownsum.com, we use your address and message only to reply, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Children
KnownSum is meant for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change too.
